ETax847 Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 Do any ATX users have any fixes for the following: 1) Organizer Letter does not pull in the year, but instead shows the hyperlinks [Federal Next Year or Return) 2) Engagement Letter still reads 2012 NOT 2013, not sure what the fix is. Thanks Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 There will not be any fixes for the 2012 program. NONE. I don't use the organizer, and I don't know the workaround. Quote
Tax Prep by Deb Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 According to the official ATX they are working on the current year 2013 organizer and will release later. (everyone is assuming towards the end of this month) Quote
ETax847 Posted December 11, 2013 Author Report Posted December 11, 2013 3) Also, the appointment date and time does not roll into the letter Extremely disappointed ATX didnt resolve these issues before moving on to the 2013 software. For current users this is a major inconvenience. Quote

Export Client information and mail merge the letters. Quote
David W Ristau CPA Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 I am assuming that most users run organizers from within the prior year program; i.e., 2013 organizer generated within the 2012 program. Organizer cover letter and engagement letter are 2 separate documate templates in 2012 program. IF and ONLY IF you remember to make a copy of the master template and save in a separate folder as a backup, try using WordPad to edit the templates. I did. It works. Quote
Guest Taxed Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 I prepare my cover letter and engagement letter in Word with mailmerge. Much easier to edit and print. Quote

ETax847 Posted December 12, 2013 Author Report Posted December 12, 2013 Very skeptical myself as this should have been addressed prior to them working on the 2013 software. As noted in a different post, some people still use the tax organizers and to not have them ready this close to tax season is extremely disappointing to say the least. Quote
David W Ristau CPA Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Can someone explain to me how to suppress printing the client mailing slip when printing organizers? I never use mailng slips and have been able to suppress when printing returns, however, when batch printing organizers, the mailing slip is included. I've tried changing slip option to "never" in all searches, however it still prints when printing organizers. Thanks! Quote
kcjenkins Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Well, this might be an extreme solution, but if you really never use it, you could delete that master form entirely. If you are batch printing a large number, I can certainly see how you'd hate wasting those sheets. Quote
Richcpaman Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 Gee, thanks for all this, ATX. Rich Quote
