Dan Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 Program errors: When I first try to open the ATX program I get two error messages. 1. The first error is: "Can't connect to server" 2. The second error is an "Initialization error" (which says please insure server is running. I am wondering why I am getting these error messages. I installed the ATX program on a stand-a-lone computer. My computer is a windows 7 Pro laptop. The processor is an AMD Phenom II N850 Triple-Core processor 2.20 Ghz. The ram memory is 4.00 GB (3.74 GB) usable. After I get these errors I continue to click on the ATX icon and then I am able to open the program. Why are these errors happening? Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 Did you install from the CD or download the file from the website? Quote
Dan Posted December 11, 2013 Author Report Posted December 11, 2013 Jack, I believe I installed it from the CD. Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 Did you leave the CD in when you started the program the first time? If not, in preferences, turn on "update whenever the program is opened.'Close the program.Put the CD back in the drive.Wait for the autostart and cancel the installation.Open the program.Wait.... Dan Posted December 11, 2013 Author Report Posted December 11, 2013 Jack, Second--when I checked the boxes in preferences for update I saw a check mark in the box update program on start up. I also saw a check mark in the box for update forms on start up. First-- I put my CD in the drive, cancelled the installation, opened the program with the CD still in the drive. What changes was I to see? Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 It will try to connect to the ATX server, but will not be successful. Then it will install all the forms from the CD. After that, updates to the server should work. Quote
Dan Posted December 11, 2013 Author Report Posted December 11, 2013 Thanks Jack. I will see tomorrow if the errors show up again. Thanks again for your advice. Quote
Dan Posted December 12, 2013 Author Report Posted December 12, 2013 Jack, I still get an error message. Maybe I need step by step directions. Quote
