Self-Prepared return

How can I get a return efiled showing me only as the ERO? The client prepared his return, but wants to efile it. Any help would be appreciated.

Eli, when I e-filed my personal return, I obviously left the paid preparer info blank on the 1040. By doing this,

I only showed up as the ERO.

I don't ever E-file a return without being the preparer. My experience is that I have always found a mistake in the return. Have to essentially prepare the return to set up for E-File so what's the sense.

When I prepare my own I don't bother removing myself as preparer and have never had a problem over the years. It might be more correct to say "have never had a problem YET"

I don't remove myself for my own return. And then I give myself a nice dinner for payment!

Just delete that information from the return itself.

I also just leave myself on as both Paid Preparer and ERO....Then I pay myself with a frikkin banana split
