Just to make it clear what this is about

In 2010 I got a new client who was audited for solar energy devices tax credit. This fellow lives in an apartment and his old taxpreparer told him he qualified because the building had solar water heater and he paid the landlord for hot water, based on some secret code interpretation?? He had to split half the credit with the taxpreparer on the side. Then I find out half the residents got audited in that building.
