Naveen Mohan from New York Posted December 3, 2013 Report Posted December 3, 2013 In Window 8.1, Adobe Acrobat reader XI will not open a PDF document if you already have PDF document open. IT hangs up the system requiring a reboot/restart. does any body know a way to get around this problem. Also can you have a newer and older version of acrobat reader in same computer. Thanks for your help. Naveen Mohan Quote
Eric Posted December 3, 2013 Report Posted December 3, 2013 It's not a problem I have encountered. Multiple PDFs open in multiple windows for me. No crashing or rebooting. You might consider checking to see if you have the latest version or uninstalling/reinstalling the software. 1 Quote
Pacun Posted December 3, 2013 Report Posted December 3, 2013 Do this, please close all programs you have open. Open a pdf and pay attention if you have to click OK or close anything prior your document opening. Then open another pdf and navigate to see if you have any other popup message that got burried. Randall Posted December 4, 2013 Report Posted December 4, 2013 Naveen, I'm not sure what you mean when you say pdf already open, open in another reader? If so, try devices, print, print in Adobe. Quote
MAMalody Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 When I installed XI, it would not let me keep the older copy of Acrobat. Quote
