Guest Taxed Posted November 29, 2013 Report Posted November 29, 2013 >>> with the i7 and maybe 16 GB ram you'll be able to skip an earlier upgrade for later The average prices for a system like that is around $800. Quote
taxtrio Posted November 29, 2013 Report Posted November 29, 2013 I bought an i5 system this summer (per recommendations by ATX at the time for 2013)... Now I am getting emails suggesting I upgrade as I am just below "recommended" system for 2013. I printed the recommendations early summer... this fall ATX changed them to i7 or better! Ugh. Quote
Guest Taxed Posted November 29, 2013 Report Posted November 29, 2013 >>> this fall ATX changed them to i7 or better! Ugh. Not too many ATX users are going to replace their system if they already have a I5 or I3 processor. It is still above their min. limits (2.8 GHz (Intel® Core™2 VPro) so you are ok. Quote
taxtrio Posted November 29, 2013 Report Posted November 29, 2013 Yes it still runs ATX better than my XP system... But I just can't rely or trust what they tell me anymore. Hard to believe them about any future promises! I still wonder if the obamacare website was written by ATX programmers! Maybe they should have hired Drake to build their website! Quote
mcb39 Posted November 30, 2013 Report Posted November 30, 2013 My beta testing ran well on i5; only thing that didn't pass the test was bandwidth over which I have no control. It also ran well under Pentium 2 T4300, 2.1 Ghz. I am using all Win 7 64 bit machines. 1 Quote

Do not worry about your internet connection. It will be completely sufficient for this coming season. 1 Quote
