PTIN Renewal Scam

I just received an email encouraging me to click on the enclosed link

to renew my PTIN. It was all text no graphics, pretty clearly a scam !

All sorts of scam going around.

I got an e-mail with a link to web hosting my software and data and upon closer examination it appeared that the servers were in someplace when the domain name ends with .ru. That was it for me!

Just use your common sense and renew it as you had done last year.

I got an email recently to renew. I thought I was supposed to renew at irs.gov so the link made me cautious. I went to irs.gov to renew.
