Catherine Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 Eeek! Snoopy scared me! Happy All Hallows' Eve to all. Clocks change THIS Sunday. Quote
GeneInAlabama Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 Can anyone besides me see who Halloween honors when we make light of demons and witches? Quote
Eric Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 Can anyone besides me see who Halloween honors when we make light of demons and witches? We don't believe in ghosts, demons, or flying witches, so as far as I can tell, we're only honoring Type 2 Diabetes with candy consumption. Either that, or The Great Pumpkin. *shrug* Quote
JohnH Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 Can anyone besides me see who Halloween honors when we make light of demons and witches? Agreed. Plus, we teach kids it's cute to extort candy from strangers with an implied threat of some sort. Quote
Guest Taxed Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 Forget which town, but a lady is giving out a note to obese kids to lose weight instead of candy? Think her house will be egged? Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 Forget which town, but a lady is giving out a note to obese kids to lose weight instead of candy? Think her house will be egged? We should find out her address and bomb her with letters. Millions of them. Quote
kcjenkins Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 Mrs Grinch should either turn off her lights and forget Halloween, or just give all the kids a single 'fun size' candy bar and keep her mouth shut. 2 Quote
Guest Taxed Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 The cold rainy weather is putting a damper for the kids fun night. It is about 8 pm and we only had a handful of kids come all wet. Usually the door bell does not stop ringing from 6 to 8pm if the weather is good? Quote
Eric Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 Our kids are 2 and a half so we go to a few relatives and some close neighbors who want to see them dressed up, but yeah, the rain is kind of a drag. 3 Quote
Guest Taxed Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 Very cute kids. It really broke my heart seeing the kids walking in the cold stinging rain and getting splashed by speeding cars. Just turned the porch light off it is 9pm. Quote
Catherine Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 Eric they are adorable!! We had a couple of kids with parents and then several sets of multi-family groups. Fortunately here the rain had tapered to drizzle and then just damp. And the temps have been rising -- ten degrees warmer now than at 4PM. Kids were vaguely damp but in excellent spirits. However, there were far fewer than we've had in the past. Lots of extra candy for my husband to bring in to work. We'll keep a few pieces here of personal favorites and ship out the rest. After all, if it stays here it either goes to waste or to waist. We don't like either alternative very much! Quote
easytax Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 For those of you who missed "Trick-or-Treat". 1 Quote
Gail in Virginia Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 I live in a rural area where I never got trick or treaters, so I participate in trunk or treat at church. The rain held off this year, so we had about 700+ kids come by our car! I love seein the costumes, especially the younger ones. I had one little girl that finally opened her bag but as soon as I put candy in her bag, she reached in and took candy out and put it in my bowl. She was my favorite this year. 3 Quote
