MeF slow on 10/15

MeF Alert: Modernized e-File (MeF) Acknowledgements (Posted 4:30 p.m Eastern, 10/15/2013)

The length of time for the MeF System to create federal acknowledgments and make them available for retrieval is taking longer than expected. As receipts increase throughout the day, the length of time may increase. The IRS is closely monitoring the acknowledgment rates and is working to close the gap as a top priority.

Please continue to monitor the MeF Status page for updates.

Me too.........with Tax Act (right after I bragged to the client..."oh, it's instantaneous"

IRS.Gov under news in the taxpro section.

We have the 5 day cure period so don't panic if you find a reject tomorrow. I will check again before I go to bed.

Got all my IRS acks last night at 10:30. Still waiting for some state acks.

The following state acks are outstanding NY, GA, OK, IN, MS, MA, NJ, KS, MI, KY, RI, AZ, and LA according to CCH.

I'm waiting for a GA ACK as well. CA is virtually instantaneous, so I'm always surprised when I have a state that takes days to process.

I think most states have caught up by now. I got all my state acks that were outstanding this morning.

I am going to do a complete backup of my returns and create a DVD for archive purpose this evening.
