Guest Taxed Posted September 2, 2013 Report Posted September 2, 2013 What a depressing weekend here in the Northeast. Rains for 3 days?? Outdoor cookouts have been ruined on the last holiday before Christmas. Hope other parts of the country are enjoying sunshine and a good cookout. Quote
Elrod Posted September 2, 2013 Report Posted September 2, 2013 Overcast all day........Drizzly...............60 degrees............. Quote
Lion EA Posted September 2, 2013 Report Posted September 2, 2013 Hot, humid, overcast, and rainy. Made me feel better about working on trusts, estates, and partnerships with 15 September deadlines! 1 Quote
Guest Taxed Posted September 2, 2013 Report Posted September 2, 2013 I like to get my 9/15 extensions completed before labor day. They are a bit more involved than typical 1040 returns and allowing the client to push it after labor day makes me very nervous. Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 Low tonight here 55 degrees? Quote
Bart Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 cookouts have been ruined on the last holiday before Christmas. Did they cancel Halloween and Thanksgiving this year? Quote
Guest Taxed Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 Did they cancel Halloween and Thanksgiving this year? Not exactly cookout weather that time of the year in my neck of the woods! Besides who wants to grill a turkey? Quote
jklcpa Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 Hot and dripping with humidity here, but the t'storms keep missing us. The mosquitos have been very hungry and forced me back inside. These Asian tiger mosquitos that we have here now don't even need standing water; they can breed under some wet leaves or in the damp grass. I cooked the burgers inside. Quote
Catherine Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 A friend of mine posted this... (I took out a couple of typed emoticons and replaced them with Eric's) Well, I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day. The Summer is now officially over. From Pittsfield and the Berkshires, to Worcester, right across Boston and to the Cape and Islands, starting at midnight TONIGHT expect wind gusts up to 80 mph, ice and snow accumulations of 3 feet, a high tide that will flood the Lynnway, and your sweet little tootsie's better be covered up. LOL. Quote
Catherine Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 In other news, it's been HUMID!!!! (dew points up to the mid-70's; blech) and either warm or downright hot. Torrential downpour on the way home yesterday noon-ish with visibility down very low even with the wipers on high. Going up a small hill a couple stones at the side of the road were throwing up 8" rooster tails! Radar shows more rain this way but I will be glad once the meandering front finally decides to go on past. Quote
jklcpa Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 I spoke too soon about the t'storms missing us. We just had a whopper of a storm with hail too. It was a small cell that has dissipated already, but there's another line coming through in a couple more hours. Oh joy! 1 Quote
Lion EA Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 And the electrician to install my generator hasn't called us back! Quote
Guest Taxed Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 And the electrician to install my generator hasn't called us back! That is not a good sign? Quote
Lion EA Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 No, it took us a couple of hurricanes to finally reach a decision, so I'm anxious to get this generator installed. But, it's probably good news for the electrician who must be very busy! 2 Quote
kcjenkins Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 It seems so strange to me these days, that I no longer need to check the weather reports. In CA's central valley, it's almost always the same! Hot and dry during the day, cool and dry at night. Weird thing this morning, though. Since I lived most of my life in a part of the country where weather was always changing, often by way of a storm, I had a membership at TWC, to get warnings, etc. This morning I GOT AN ICYPRICP WARNING! Quickly followed by TWC ICYPRCP SalidaFRI: Sunny expected Precip 0% High: 95F We apologize for the incorrect icy precipitation message -TWC alerts Quote
Guest Taxed Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 The West could use all the rain from Northeast but nature does not want to co -operate! Quote
kcjenkins Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 yes, a lot of CA could use some "icy precipitation" for sure Quote
Catherine Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 My husband just about went nuts the few years he lived in CA post-graduation. "Late night and early morning low clouds and fog" was the constant forecast. He says CA does NOT have weather; it has climate. (plus fires, earthquakes, and mudslides) lol 1 Quote
