How can I scan multiple batches to one file?

ATX Help anticipates this problem but in regular ATX there is no "Scan with Feeder" message after scanning. I don't know why basic features are restricted to certain software when any machine should be able to combine PDF's. How do you prefer to do it? Thanks.

I combine them by printing them to my pdfFactory printer.
