GeneInAlabama Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 >>Knee-high by the 4th of July.<< Haven't heard that phrase in a long time, but then, I'm not a farmer. Although, I did plant a tomato plant one time. Would that qualify me for a schedule F? 1 Quote
Elrod Posted July 4, 2013 Author Report Posted July 4, 2013 Yup!....Sure would, GeneInAlabama ....But you must sell a least one tomato. Quote
kcjenkins Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 Well, at least you should TRY to sell one. LOL Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 I have tomatoes, green beans, summer squash & giant sunflowers. If I sell a basket of tomatoes, a peck of green beans and a bag of sunflower seeds then I have a farm? BTW, I live inside a city and the garden is only 14X14. Quote
kcjenkins Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 There is no size limit in the code! IRS Tax Tip 2013-41, March 26, 2013 If you earn money managing or working on a farm, you are in the farming business. Farms include plantations, ranches, ranges and orchards. Farmers may raise livestock, poultry or fish, or grow fruits or vegetables. Do you work on growing those vegetables? Then you are a farmer if you raise any of them 'for sale'. Quote
