Terry O Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 Due to divorce, taxpayers alternate dependency exemptions each year for 1 of three children. Each also get to claim one every year. My question, is the custodial parent still eligible for the Earned Income Credit for the child she is NOT claiming this year? Quote
lbbwest Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 Earned income credit DOES NOT go with dependancy exemption (neccessarily) take a quick look at this year's criteria to make sure your client qualifies, last year the child was input separately for earned income credit in ATX when not a dependant. I haven't looked at it for this year yet. lbb Quote
