Jack from Ohio Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 Has anyone installed 12.16 on a standalone WIN 7 system? With the crap we experienced here at the firm, I am totally hesitant to install it on my home standalone system. Any info? Quote
mcb39 Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 I thought I had, but just checked and am at 12.15.4. Will check laptop later. This one seems to be working fine. Quote
Lee B Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 I plan on staying at 12.13 until I'm forced to update. It's working OK with minimal problems. Quote
North Idaho Rich Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 My system is a standalone with Win 7. I did my update to 12.16 and everything seems like it's in slow motion. The backup feature (or backup slowdown) is the same or worse, there are printing slowdowns and a general software slowdown in every feature. I wish I could click the un-do button on this one. Even the "use check return 1st before printing fix" doesn't seem to be much if any help. Mixed feelings for the future. Hopefully when I beta test the 2013 version I'll need a seatbelt on my desk chair... Quote
North Idaho Rich Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 I forgot to mention how unstable the program seems now even with frequent re-booting. It seems to wonder into "program not responding" and sometimes recovers and sometimes not... Quote
joanmcq Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 I'm not updating because I'm working fine with 12.15. Printings even gotten a bit faster, and I currently have three returns open. I'm not risking it. Actually, most of this year I haven't updated until I see R Fassit is doing ok! 1 Quote

TonyP Posted June 2, 2013 Report Posted June 2, 2013 I'm running ATX on a stand-alone gaming computer, the OS is Win7 Pro with a 3.20 gigahertz Intel Core i7 960 processor along with 12G of RAM. I need all that power to run MS Flight Simulator in an acceptable fashion. Not having a problem with 12.6,.. it still runs slow and back-up takes awhile to finally close, maybe 12.7 will improve it, saw some mixed comments on the ATX board about 12.7 . Might try 12.7 after a few more assessments by others. Quote
