Ray in Ohio Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 This morning we had to 'reprimand' a client that was being pushy and outright rude and not happy that he owes, wanting us to recheck the numbers but did not want an extension. We told him that we do not have time for that today and finally told him that he will have to take his info somewhere else. Now he sent us fresh donuts and coffee. That was really nice of him, but how is that supposed to make us feel??? Quote
JohnH Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 Sounds like he's shown a little contrition. I would appreciate his honesty - many people are too proud & stubborn to do what he did. I'd assume he came to his senses after he calmed down. It happens. 2 Quote
rfassett Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 Agree with JohnH. If it were my office, we would call him post haste, thank him and ask if he would like an appointment next week to go over the return and remind him that a return can be amended if need be. Now this is assuming the coffee and donuts aren't laced. :) Quote
JJStephens Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 Might be an apology . . . might be trying to make you feel like you feel! Quote
FedupCPA Posted April 16, 2013 Report Posted April 16, 2013 I hate manipulators, but maybe he is truly contrite. Quote
mrichman333 Posted April 16, 2013 Report Posted April 16, 2013 It might be posion, or something else. I wouldn't eat it Quote
Guest Taxed Posted April 16, 2013 Report Posted April 16, 2013 Sometimes you have to tell them the way it is. Had a referral call me at 2pm. Wanting to figure out an extension where they did NOt have to pay now but pay in 6 months without any interest??? They were led to believe at their church group that if they filed an extension with a certain calculation they could pay what they owed by october without interest?? I know active military members get a relief but this guy is not deployed? Does reserve duty count?? Quote
