Sec. 179 equipment on 4835 farm not flowing

My brain is mush....

Is there a caveat that prevents sect 179 of equipment on a 4835 farm operation? Big profit, so that is not the issue. It is rolling it forward and not allowing it for this year.

My brain is mush as well. But I am thinking that you have to have self employment earnings or social security wages to qualify. A farm rental doesn't qualify any more than a schedule e rental.
