ljwalters Posted April 14, 2013 Report Posted April 14, 2013 Just had client call and ask why the 8879 and the 1040 (the match) show different amounts from the 1040 V. I checked my printed copy and she was right. I went back to the program to scan the inputs and the 8863 had recalculated. (during a printing????) I am so P_____ off. Just something else we need to keep an I on and I wonder how many others were affected. Quote
elfling Posted April 14, 2013 Report Posted April 14, 2013 We have run into several returns containing 8863 rejecting due to missing EIN for the school. Were there when we set up the returns. Don't know how something like that vanishes upon transmitting. (????) And why the H___ doesn't error check catch that?!! Quote
FedupCPA Posted April 14, 2013 Report Posted April 14, 2013 Lots of things remove themselves from the returns I've found. I hate this program with such a passion!! Quote
Catherine Posted April 14, 2013 Report Posted April 14, 2013 I have also run into the TIN for the schools going poof! upon e-filing. Doesn't happen the 2nd attempt -- just the first. First time figured it was me, so the second time I was super-careful making sure... nope; it's the program. VERY disturbing to have things change on you out of nowhere. I no longer feel I can trust the software to (ay) calculate returns correctly, and (bee) transmit accurately what I have finalized. NOT a good thing. Quote
Gail in Virginia Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 I know fixed assets have been a problem, but we had a return that the fixed assets were there and depreciating correctly when the return was printed but they disappeared when it was e-filed. First amendment on the list but I doubt it will be the last. Quote
ljwalters Posted April 15, 2013 Author Report Posted April 15, 2013 Just happened again. This time I caught it not the client. 8879 and payment vouher are different. Quote
Randall Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 Is the 8879 incorrect or the payment voucher? Does the payment voucher agree witht the return and is that amount correct? Just wondering if the efiled return is correct and only the 8879 incorrect? Or can we even tell what has actually been efiled? Quote
joanmcq Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 Did you open up the return to print one after printing the other and the return wasn't marked complete? If you did before printing the 8879, that's probably what efiled. Quote
