Dan Posted April 12, 2013 Report Posted April 12, 2013 If you receive an email from IRS that says "Claim Your Tax Refund Online" what do you do? It goes on to say "We identified an error in the calculation of your tax from the last payment, amounting to $419.95. In order for us to return the excess payment, you need to create a e-Refund account after which the funds will be credited to your specified bank account. I would say the above is a hoax, what do you say? Quote
rfassett Posted April 12, 2013 Report Posted April 12, 2013 IRS does not send out unsolicited emails as a first point of contact. Delete. Delete. Delete. Quote

Guest Taxed Posted April 12, 2013 Report Posted April 12, 2013 Dan how long have youbeen doing taxes? This is a typical scam around this time. The con artist wants your bank account # to do an ach debit instead of a credit! I have a standard warning on all my newsletters to my clients. If you get a call or e-mail or any letter from IRS or the stste DOR regarding your tax return call me BEFORE you contact them. And boy do they contact me when the bank sends a letter that the mortgage payment is late!! Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted April 12, 2013 Report Posted April 12, 2013 Long time old HOAX! If it were truly from the IRS, wouldn't they know your name? Common Sense and logic here!!! Quote
