mrichman333 Posted April 10, 2013 Report Posted April 10, 2013 So I called One Desk and let them know I solved the problem I had and that they did not need to call me back. I also asked if it would be possible for someone to contact me after tax season and give me some training with the more sophisticated features and more complex returns; though I don't think I phrased it quit like that. Well they just left a message for me saying they would be more then happy to do that. WOW! TRX wouldn't even answer my calls.. I have to say the glitches I ran into this year were more due to my own over sights then the program. One Desk came through when TRX and Tax Works did not, and the customer service was excellent and I'm not a paying customer. So keep it on your list for next year. Quote
Guest Taxed Posted April 11, 2013 Report Posted April 11, 2013 So what was the solution to your issue? If you enter the W2 info. showing each state, how much the taxable income was and how much was witheld, do you have to then manually add them somewhere in the resident state return? In Taxworks we did not have to do any of that as long as the W2 was inputed correctly and the resident/non-resident was checked correctly under state return. Quote

In Taxworks we did not have to do any of that as long as the W2 was inputed correctly and the resident/non-resident was checked correctly under state return. On the W2 input screen I had to manually add NJ and the taxable amount for it to carry to the NJ return. For the US Saving bond I just over rode the field. I just don't remember having to do that with TRX. I'm tired as heck this time of year, stressed out and not thinking as clearly as I should be. So what was the solution to your issue? Quote
Roberts Posted April 11, 2013 Report Posted April 11, 2013 To be fair, TRX held out of season training sessions also at their offices in Tennessee. Quote

I don't think I actually need, I'm just burnt out for the season. lol Just a few questions and pointers should do it. I find it to be a very easy and workable program that could use some tweeking. Roberts Posted April 11, 2013 Report Posted April 11, 2013 I find it to be a very easy and workable program that could use some tweeking. I don't know their business level / activity but I'd guess they need a large number of suggestions to upgrade the software. Was told when I renewed that they would be sending out their yearly survey so that I could provide them with suggestions and a review of the product. It needs those tweeks and upgrades but in reality I find it very similar to the old Intellitax software which was my favorite software ever. About mid-March I started writing down my suggestions as I confronted them. For example the figuring of penalties for underpayment appears to be non-automatic but I'm guessing if you are a returning client and it has the previous year data it might be automatic. Quote
Guest Taxed Posted May 31, 2013 Report Posted May 31, 2013 Is OneDesk a rebrand of OLTPro? I believe OLTPro is on sale till June?? Quote

Terry D EA Posted June 4, 2013 Report Posted June 4, 2013 <<<<Is OneDesk a rebrand of OLTPro? I believe OLTPro is on sale till June??>>>> Oh please read, read, read! We discussed this two months ago. Also, it is June and I am still getting messages on voicemail from them. There goes that crystal ball thing again. From my opinion, another cheap not functional software that I can't trust. I did try it and they can't understand and handle trust returns. have you figured out yet that "Cheap" isn't the best route yet? How about reliability shouldn't that be a must? Quote
