grandmabee Posted April 9, 2013 Report Posted April 9, 2013 I lost my fixed assets and talking with support they were able to import but they show up on fixed assets but not the 4562 calculations and not of sch F. Has anyone had this problem? they are there but they are not there???? Quote
Maribeth Posted April 9, 2013 Report Posted April 9, 2013 Are they assigned to the Sch F? On the fixed assets tab, look on the left and see if they are unassigned. If so, assign them to Sch F and they should populate. Quote
grandmabee Posted April 9, 2013 Author Report Posted April 9, 2013 yes they are assigned to each correct schedule. they show the correct depreciation for the prior year and current year but only the current year shows up on the 4562 and sch. F Quote
Maribeth Posted April 9, 2013 Report Posted April 9, 2013 Not sure what you mean. Only the current year depreciation should be showing up on the 4562 and on the Sch F. Quote
grandmabee Posted April 9, 2013 Author Report Posted April 9, 2013 I mean the new assets purchased in 2012 not what coming forward from prior years purchase. Must be getting tired I can't even explain what I mean now. Quote
Maribeth Posted April 9, 2013 Report Posted April 9, 2013 Okay, so the new assets are being depreciated correctly on 4562 but the pror years' assets that are still being depreciated are not coming onto the 4562. This late in the game could you print out the depreciation schedule so that you know what it needs to be and then use the "discard fixed assets for direct input" on the 4562. Just enter the numbers where they need to go, make sure it is okay on Sch F and run with that? Then maybe after 4/15/13, you can go back, with a clear head that isn't tired, maybe get through to support, and fix it? Just a thought . . . . Quote
grandmabee Posted April 9, 2013 Author Report Posted April 9, 2013 that is what I was going to do but then second call to tech and they re-imported and now it works. 1 Quote
Randall Posted April 9, 2013 Report Posted April 9, 2013 I've posted my problem. It happens when I go into the print menu. When I leave the print menu, the 4562 info is gone including the 4562 statements. The fixed assets are still there under the FA tab. I close the return and re-open and everything is back. Very annoying. Quote
grandmabee Posted April 9, 2013 Author Report Posted April 9, 2013 mine didn't work that way closed program rebooted never came back until they imported for the second time. Quote
Randall Posted April 10, 2013 Report Posted April 10, 2013 grandmabee, that happened to me too one time. I duplicated the return so I could play around with it without losing everything. I discarded the 4562 bu lost the FA. when I added back the 4562, the FA with the assets came back (luckily). This return had several activities with depreciation. In FA, I reassigned each asset to another activity (not before used), then reassigned each asset back to it's correct activity. This worked but took some time. So far, this has only happened once. Closing and reopening the return has worked on all the other times. Quote
