Of course! How else to determine if it is warm enough to eat -- or hot enough to set aside for a minute before diving in?

Here's a question: What do you do while waiting for the microwave to beep?

A) Find silverware and napkin.

Straighten up the counter.

C) Stare mindlessly at the microwave.

D) Try to assemble a return, phone rings, and one hour later you go back in kitchen and try again.

Didn't mean for that "B" to be Robert Palmer, but it kinda works.

Leave room and then wander back in wondering why I came downstairs. Look in refrigerator. Stare vacantly. If the microwave beeps again, realize I left the potholder upstairs again......

I do this a lot, too:

1) Look in the cabinet. Nothing to eat.

2) Look in the fridge. Nothing to eat.

3) Lower standards and repeat.

Yeah, I've had a couple of fairly stale tortillas for dinner at times, usually keep a box of cereal in the office, and eat it out of the box. Bananas are the perfect tax season food. If I don't run out.
