SFA Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 awwww. right about now I could use a good laugh. Where's the video?????????? Quote
kcjenkins Posted March 22, 2013 Author Report Posted March 22, 2013 That's the problem. The IRS is refusing to provide a copy to the Congress. Which to some seems really strange, as well as suspicious. Quote
Gail in Virginia Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 I don't know that I have time now, but if I paid for this I sure would like to see it. I am kind of surprised that it hasn't somehow leaked to YouTube. Quote
kcjenkins Posted March 23, 2013 Author Report Posted March 23, 2013 It was finally released Friday. http://dailycaller.com/2013/03/23/heres-the-irs-star-trek-video-you-paid-for-america/ “Space: the final frontier These are the voyagers of the Starship Enterprise Y Its never-ending mission is to seek out new tax forms To explore strange new regulations To boldly go where no government employee has gone before.” Thus begins a six-minute “Star Trek” parody starring IRS employees and paid for with your tax dollars. It’s not likely to go over well with some Americans and members of Congress, especially since federal agencies have been complaining that it’s difficult to find trims under forced sequestration. It’s got the same production values and acting talent as a porn movie, except the only one getting screwed is you. Quote
kcjenkins Posted March 23, 2013 Author Report Posted March 23, 2013 The controversy still hasn't ended. There is another video with a "Gilligan’s Island" theme which the IRS has not released. In this case the agency is saying it was a "a legitimate training video" with "an island theme provided filing season training for 1,900 employees in our Taxpayer Assistance Centers in 400 locations." According to the IRS "using a video saved the agency $1.5 million each year compared to the costs of training the employees in person." No explanation why we taxpayers should not be allowed to see this 'training film'. Quote
kcjenkins Posted March 25, 2013 Author Report Posted March 25, 2013 OK, they finally released the second video, Gilligan's Island http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBq8yzLObGg Quote
