Elrod Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 Refunds totaling just over $917 million may be waiting for an estimated 984,400 taxpayers who did not file a federal income tax return for 2009, the Internal Revenue Service announced today. However, to collect the money, a return for 2009 must be filed with the IRS no later than Monday, April 15, 2013. http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/IRS-Has-$917-Million-for-People-Who-Have-Not-Filed-a-2009-Income-Tax-Return Quote
mcb39 Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 I have one of those non-filers to deal with tomorrow morning. However, I can assure you that she will not be getting a refund (unless they put it all in a basket and divvy it up). Quote
kcjenkins Posted March 16, 2013 Report Posted March 16, 2013 Thing is, IRS is looking at just what they have on file, to come up with those 'refunds' estimates. But often the reason they did not file is that they know they have other income that, if they filed, would owe money. Quote
michaelmars Posted March 16, 2013 Report Posted March 16, 2013 i wish i were a non filer then i could get my share of the millions. Quote
