MAMalody Posted March 13, 2013 Report Posted March 13, 2013 Okay, I give up. I have a client that started a second rental property in 2012 and for the life of me, I can't figure out how to set up the second property in the fixed asset tab. It is only 2311 and I have been up since 615 but that should not be the issue. Any help would be appreciated. I did check the support portion of the program to no avail. Quote
joanmcq Posted March 13, 2013 Report Posted March 13, 2013 It should tie to one of your activities. There's a drop down box right after 'date' in the FAM. Select the activity, and the assets will add to that one. Quote
rfassett Posted March 13, 2013 Report Posted March 13, 2013 But you have to set up the activity first,i.e., add the second property to Schedule.E. Quote
MAMalody Posted March 13, 2013 Author Report Posted March 13, 2013 I did set up the second property to Schedule E. I thought that was my mistake, too. Turned out it wasn't. Any other ideas? Quote
Pacun Posted March 13, 2013 Report Posted March 13, 2013 You said "any other ideas"? Well, client sold primary residence and I don't find where to add the asset either. I am thinking about going to the previous year, add the asset (which was easy to do prior to 2012 ATX) and roll over the client. Quote
jasdlm Posted March 13, 2013 Report Posted March 13, 2013 Took me a while to figure out. Enter the asset and the date. Then wait a very long time (seriously, like two minutes). Once it has processed the date, you can choose the activity from the drop down box right next to the date. Quote
MAMalody Posted March 14, 2013 Author Report Posted March 14, 2013 I will try this and let you know what happened. Quote
