cpabsd Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 Client donated sick leave to the "bank" at work to be given to someone who had terminal cancer. I do not believe it qualifies as donation because it was to an individual. What are your thoughts? This was a government employee. I also believe they were not taxed on the money they chose to donate. Thanks! Bonnie Quote
imjulier Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 I think the sick time has no value....gets paid anyway, right? Quote
Terry D EA Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 I am a State Employee and sick leave is not taxed until it is taken by the person who earned it. The person your client donated the sick leave to will be taxed as normal income. No deduction for your client. Sorry Quote
