Marie Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 workstation cannot access any files that have the fixed assets manager in it. I have lots of those and tech says we have to wait for a new update. Before 12.10, a tech told me 12.10 was going to fix. What next? Quote
RitaB Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 I am so sorry, Marie. I have been afraid to install it. Will keep holding off on that. Thanks for the info, wow, I'm sorry. Quote
mcb39 Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 I am on 12 and have created and filed returns with the fixed asset manager in them. However, I am on stand-alone computers; Win 7, 64 Bit. Sorry to hear that there are such serious issues still going on. Quote
Lee B Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 After what has it been 2 or 3 weeks, ATX has finally figured out what's causing this problem and it's going part of the 12.11 update. I did read a post this morning on the ATX Board where a poster figured out a successful workaround. Quote
TAXMAN Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 I looked over there but can't seem to find. Can you relocate it? Quote

Jack from Ohio Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 First read KnowledgeBase article # 14140. Second find the thread titled, "Cannot access FAM client folder" and readWho has time to wait for another "program update" for three weeks. We recreated from scratch over 25 returns.with the FAM error. Tech said "...there is no fix for this problem. The developers are..."Maybe your clients are willing to wait an extra 3 weeks for you to file their return, but we don't have ANY with that kind of patience....The problem occurred on the 25 returns done on the day 12.9 was released. 12.10 stopped the continued corruption, but was/is not able to allow access to the corrupted returns created under 12.9. Losing TOTAL faith that anyone at CCH gives a flying flip about us. Quote
jklcpa Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 "Losing TOTAL faith that anyone at CCH gives a flying flip about us." I never thought they did! The sales rep I spoke with about a week ago to request my refund told me that my clients should be willing to wait for ATX to get their programming corrected. I was boiling over but tried to remain calm to get through the conversation and get off the telephone with him. 2 Quote
