Janitor Bob Posted March 1, 2013 Report Posted March 1, 2013 Is anyone else here using Vipre Internet security? I am wondering if that is not part of my problem with ATX 2012....I normally shut down the Vipre program, but as a security feature, it will not allow you to stop the main process running in the background. wondering if this is conflicitng with ATX 2012 Quote

However, I was using Microsoft Security Essentials and Malaware. When all of this mess started, my IT guy came over, deleted the above software, installed AVG. The speed improved dramatically! Quote
B. Jani Posted March 1, 2013 Report Posted March 1, 2013 I use Mcfee and so far no problem. Just crossing my fingers. Quote
mcb39 Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 I use AVG along with Malwarebytes......no issues! Quote
NECPA in NEBRASKA Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 I use AVG and Malwarebytes also and ATX's performance is good. Quote
txsoftware1 Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 Thats funny, we did the opposite, took off AVG and put in the Microsoft Security Essentials and working better... just depends on your IT guy.. Mcfee-Never.. I know that I have to exit the program after 3 tax returns, cannot open any return with Form 8283 on it, etc.. Have learned what makes it crash. Just a few days from getting ProSeries conversion back and will no longer be tied to this mess... In my 25 years of this business, I have never seen such a catastrophic mess. Quote
Janitor Bob Posted March 3, 2013 Author Report Posted March 3, 2013 Thanks.....my problem was related to a Vipre beta version that was causing various problems with my system (not just ATX). I uninstalled the beta update and went back to prior version and everything works better...including ATX. 1 Quote
HV Ken Posted March 3, 2013 Report Posted March 3, 2013 I use ESET, has been working on my Windows 7 machines, but not at all on my XP machines. I have borrowed two Windows 7 machines to temporarily replace my XP machines so I can get by.... Quote
