schirallicpa Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 Where oh where did it go? I had lost the whole program last night. Now I cannot find my database. Was too dumb to do a full back up a couple days ago when i should have. Quote
ILLMAS Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 A backup is very important, daily if possible with ATX being so unstable. If the return manager didn't reappear, you completely removed the program, however did you manually delete any folders? I have uninstalled so many times, I never lost data, but I had a backup on an external drive just incase. You mention you are working on WIN7, do you use the backup program on it? If not, it's very simple to setup, all you need is an external hard drive (I recommend a 2TB), which you can find under $150. PM me and I will help you set it up once you have the hard drive. schirallicpa Posted February 26, 2013 Author Report Posted February 26, 2013 My backup file is vacant. I have not backed up to external drive since Feb 16, which is not the end of the world, but you know how many returns you go thru daily. You are right. backups should be everyday. And Sunday afternoon I sat here thinking i needed to do one, and then got busy working and forgot. Monday was doomsday. Now I'm re-doing a weeks worth of work. As if I weren't already a week behind to begin with Lesson learned! Quote
needmoreupdate Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 look under your atx2012 sub-dir CCH small servicesatx2012backup. Unless you uncheck it, your backup should be there. Quote
