schirallicpa Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 I have been doing “ok” with the software. No major issues. Each time I was booted out, I was able to get back in. But today my whole computer froze in the middle of me selecting print options in a corp return. Used task manager to stop program. Could not re-open program after that. Tried to repair from disk. Rebooted computer. Nothing. Tried to download updates from websites. Rebooted computer. Nothing. Tried to set my computer back to this morning when program was working fine. Rebooted. Nothing. Tried to uninstall and reinstall from disk. Rebooted computer. Nothing. Tried to uninstall and reinstall from website. Rebooted computer. Nothing. Tried to download updates again. Rebooted computer. Nothing. Error says windows stopped working. The program just won’t get anywhere. Stays on blue window and then says windows stopped and closes. Earlier noted 2 errors and a message: Error 1706 Error 1603 Cannot find “atx2012.msi” I see the installation process “extracting” msi files. Not sure what any of that means. Using Windows 7. Quote
Lee B Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 I seen several posts from tech people that were highly critical of this program because they said it was making changes to the windows registry. It sounds like they were correct. What left for you, reinstall Windows ??? Quote
ILLMAS Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 Tried to uninstall and reinstall from disk. Rebooted computer. Nothing. Tried to uninstall and reinstall from website. Rebooted computer. Nothing. I am very surprised this didn't work for you, try using a program called Revo Pro Uninstaller, it will remove all traces of the software, then try to reinstall it. Then restore from your backup, I completely removed the software using Revo, reinstalled it and my clients still reappear, so I was thinking it didn't completely removed it, but after reinstalling it worked for me.
