ILLMAS Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 I am getting these two error messages: SEIC-F1040-506-01 R0000-507-01 In other words: Dependent SSN was issued in another return for this year.... I had the client call the IRS and everything is fine on their end, is there away around this? Thanks MAS Quote
Tax Prep by Deb Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 Can't remember what my codes were but I also had both one of which said they had already been claimed. Took another look at the social and saw that I took a 3 for an 8, changed the number resubmitted and it went through. So check and double check the social. Deb! Quote
ILLMAS Posted February 20, 2013 Author Report Posted February 20, 2013 I will do that, I had not had a problem in prior year with this client. MAS Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 That error means simply what it says. Someone filed a return using the dependent's SS# and claiming him as a dependent. Most often it is a teenager or college student using turbo-tax and claiming themselves. Other possibilities are the other parent in a divorced or separated situation claiming the child. check those possibilities. 99% of the ones I see with this error are one of the situations above. Tax Prep by Deb Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 I agree, I just took a look and it seems that someone has used the same dependent social for the tax return as wells as for eic. Deb! Quote
