System error

Please help.

I have a return, schedule C only. I am able to create efile for federal but error on the state.

Error said: 1040 System error. System error encountered. Update program then call technical support.

I had that issue earlier in the season and do not remember exactly what I did so it must have been just a re-boot or something simple, I know I did not call technical support because I have not called them this year. Anyway, try that, if you haven't already.

I already restart the software but same issue

Try re-booting the computer - not just the program.

There have been several posts about removing the asset folder, closing the program, rebooting and then updating the forms (or something like that). According to the posts, it fixes a myriad of problems. If you can find a post that gives instructions on how to do that (I think Maribeth has posted it at least once - but it might be in the software problems thread) maybe that will fix the issue.

Delete the return and start over.

Sometimes it is quicker and easier to fix that one return than trying to fix the software.
