Tax Newbie Posted February 2, 2013 Report Posted February 2, 2013 Is there a work around for this calculation (=5+15)in ATX 2012? ATX 2012 on both of my desk top and laptop don't recongnize the = key for adding. I'm so frustrate with the lack of this feature. Thanks for your help. Quote
Lion EA Posted February 2, 2013 Report Posted February 2, 2013 =(+5+15) or +5+15 or =5+15? Don't use ATX, so don't know what notation it uses. No longer a spreadsheet, right? Quote
rfassett Posted February 2, 2013 Report Posted February 2, 2013 My understanding is that "in cell" equations are no longer permitted under the guise that it screws up the e-file. Sounds reasonable. You will have to use the calculator to do your calculations and insert the result. F8 on your key board or click the calculator on the tool bar. Quote
OldJack Posted February 2, 2013 Report Posted February 2, 2013 And they say they have improved the software? 1 Quote
rfassett Posted February 2, 2013 Report Posted February 2, 2013 Actually, with each passing return, I am liking the software more and more. Yes it is a little sluggish, but that will come. As has been stated a number of times, this is not the ATX of old. It is a complete revamp, and I am liking it. 1 Quote

One of the reason those kind of changes are no longer possible is that too many people thought they knew what they were doing, when in reality, they did not. I understand the IRS, as part of MEF, does not allow certain kinds of data to be changed. Quote

They still have that feature. Put 5 on line 1 and 15 on line 2 and at the bottom it will show 20. Tom Hollister, CA 1 Quote
