tduncan80 Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 Hello. I am wondering if anyone else is having a problem logging in to ATX on a workstation due to that user supposedly being logged in at another workstation. In 2011 and earlier programs, there was a repair utility that could be used to unlock all users. That seems to be gone in 2012. Can anyone help? We have restarted the computer and uninstalled and installed the program. Other workstations/users can log in just fine. Thanks for the help. Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 One more time! The 2012 program is entirely new from the inside out. Nothing is the same. All issues this year are unique to this year. Excel and Acess 97 based program is history. At the risk of sounding redundant and a wise-ass, reading the users guide that is installed when ATX is installed is a very good way to learn the new program. Once more... ALL IS BRAND NEW!!! Quote
Maribeth Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 From the other ATX board: 1. Make sure ATX is not open on any computer or workstation or server. 2. Delete all files inside the following folders called PersistentLock and Transient Lock ATX2012NetworksharePersistentLock ATX 2012NetworkshareTransient Lock Delete files, not folders. Delete the files insdie the specified 2 folders. Have not tried this but kept the copy of the posting just in case. Maribeth Quote
Ray in Ohio Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 Well we don't have that problem at all. New for 2012 it does not ask the users to log in at all. We have 6 users but none of the workstations asks for a login when it starts. Anybody have any idea why not? Quote

joanmcq Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 Thank you Jack. I've started posting "have you looked at the manual?" in the other forum. I'm sure that's why the ATX bulletin with the training videos went out yesterday. They must be getting sick of having the tech lines filled with these kind of questions. 1 Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 Thank you Jack. I've started posting "have you looked at the manual?" in the other forum. I'm sure that's why the ATX bulletin with the training videos went out yesterday. They must be getting sick of having the tech lines filled with these kind of questions. It installs right on your computer when you install the software. It is not 1990 any more and things are high tech and complex. (can you say tax regulations?) This means a learning curve on a very regular basis. Learning curve means reading.... 1 Quote
Ray in Ohio Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 I will look in the owner's manual. No sense in posting a question here hoping someone has a quick solution. Thanks for your quick answer Jack. At least now I know where to look it up at. Quote
