ILLMAS Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 Here is something the TV commercial doesn't tell you or the fine print is so small it's unreadable. http://www.streetinsider.com/Corporate+News/H%26R+Block+(HRB)+Announces+Extension+of+Emerald+Advance+Offer/8009301.html If the link doesn't work google HRB Extension of Emerald Advance Quote
David1980 Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 No W-2 needed since they're not filing a tax return. Not when you're applying for their advance product. Quote
kcjenkins Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 It has always irritated me that the IRS allows them to advertise these loans as if they are 'refunds' just because they have some tiny print no one can read that says they are actually loans. If the IRS required that they clearly explain that it is a loan, and state clearly the true interest rate, there would be less loans, and less confusion about why you can;t get them their refund as fast as the big chains can. HV Ken Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 Based on what I have seen, people taking advantage of this are receiving several thousands of dollars in EITC and can care less if it costs them an extra $100-$200 (invisible to them as it is taken out of "free money") to get this free money faster. 1 Quote
