Larry Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 I worked on a practice return and when I go into print preview some of the instructions are going to print along with the forms. I called support and they said to go into print form instead of print return and select the page(s) you want to print. That will work but that will be very time consuming, is there a way around not having the instructions printing? Last year we could check what forms, worksheets we wanted to print without any instructions. Quote
Guest Taxed Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 I agree a professional tax software should not have those instructions attached to the forms. Looks like those IRS fillable forms were used! Also this software does not have the ability to create print sets where you can specify which forms to print. The 2011 version had it and was very helpful to save on paper! Quote
cataxes Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 I am not able to view, the return in PDF. I have uninstalled and re-installed Adobe reader and still nothing. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Quote
Terry D EA Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 Have you updated to the latest version which is 4.0.0.12? Some print problems were fixed with that version. It is not clear which version of Adobe works the best. I am runnng Acrobat Reader 11 and don't have any major problems. Quote
cataxes Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 I did have 4.0.0.12 and just updated to 4.0.013, have Acrobat Reader 11 and still cannot view or print. May I ask what procedure you are using to print? I followed the instructions in the manual with no luck. Thanks for your help! Quote
Crank Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 Has been working fine for me. Select the Print menu the top. Select Print Preview Return, Print Preview Selected Form or Print Preview Form. then from the pop-up box check "Preview to Print" and click the Print button on the bottom. A .pdf open and you can print from there. Im using Adobe Reader X version 10.1.5 Quote
cataxes Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 That is the way I have been doing it also, but pdf does not open, Guess I have to keep trying to get through to support. Thanks. Quote
cataxes Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 Support solved my printing issues, they were aware that some users were having a problem. Had to install a different pdf viewer. Total time spent on the phone was 30 minutes. Quote
Crank Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 Good to know Yeah my first and only tech support call was almost two hours only to find out that the two items I called about were known issues. We better all plan ahead for long tech support calls. Also, be careful when screen sharing. The program saves automatically so if a form or something is deleted, its gone. Make sure you have backups. cataxes Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 Thanks for the info. I am sure that I will seeking more info before the season is over! Quote
