Dan Posted January 15, 2013 Report Posted January 15, 2013 I rolled over form 1120S from one of my clients. Forms rolled over were: Sch K1; W-2; Client instructions and 1120S. It took some time for the return to open. The changes I saw: there were no folders on the top in this new program. Instead a list of forms were on the left. I wonder why they made this change. I know other tax software has forms on the left but I liked how ATX had the folers on the top. The pages and worksheets were on the bottom as before. At the bottom it also included a way to expand your page on the computer screen. So far this is the only return I have rolled over. Still waiting for more updates to the program. I wonder when Form 940 will be available? Quote
mcb39 Posted January 15, 2013 Report Posted January 15, 2013 Dan, you can go into preferences and change them back to the top. 1 Quote
Dan Posted January 15, 2013 Author Report Posted January 15, 2013 Marilyn Thanks for the information. It works! Quote
cranecrane Posted January 15, 2013 Report Posted January 15, 2013 marilyn, any news on why the k-1 detail screen causes the program to freeze and/or close? Quote
rfassett Posted January 15, 2013 Report Posted January 15, 2013 Dan - I don't think you are going to get Form 940 in the tax software. It is now in the Payroll Compliance module - a separate module from the tax software. I have been using that module for the past week and Form 940 is there. Quote
Randall Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 Form tabs on top were the default in the past. You had the option to move them to the left side. They made the default on the left this year supposedly because they got a lot of feedback that was preferable. I like them on the left myself. Quote
Margaret CPA in OH Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 I prefer the top, most of the time but with the ease of changing through preferences, I now see what works with a given return. Sometimes in entering K-1 info, I have to go to tabs left to see enough of the data entry screen to make sense. It's also seems easier to change the size of the viewable form now, too, or maybe I just discovered that. Never too old to learn something - I hope! Quote
