grmy2h Posted January 10, 2013 Report Posted January 10, 2013 Program Update 12.2 -- Delayed We found a defect late yesterday that will most likely require the Program Update 12.2 to be built again. This will delay the our anticipated 10 AM delivery. As we gather more information throughout the day, we will keep you updated on the new delivery date. We do not anticipate a long delay, but we need to allow our development staff to evaluate the defect to determine the next steps. Quote
kcjenkins Posted January 10, 2013 Report Posted January 10, 2013 Well, better to get it right than to get it fast, IMHO. Especially as the IRS has the same problems, and has delayed everything on their end. Any one know if the other software companies are having similar issues? 1 Quote
kcjenkins Posted January 10, 2013 Report Posted January 10, 2013 'By the way, the Founder's Quote today seemed especially appropriate in today's world: "It will be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood; if they be repealed or revised before they are promulgated, or undergo such incessant changes that no man who knows what the law is today can guess what it will be to-morrow." --James Madison, Federalist No. 62, 1788 1 Quote
Tax Prep by Deb Posted January 10, 2013 Report Posted January 10, 2013 10:30 AM Update We have identified the issue and it is isolated to the installation packaging. This means that we will not have to rebuild the update itself, just the installation piece of it. We are in the process of doing this and testing the installation change that was made. Our goal is to post the 12.2 update before 3 PM EST. I will keep you updated. Looks like we may still get it today! Deb! 1 Quote
Jim Oh Bkkr Posted January 10, 2013 Report Posted January 10, 2013 WELL SPOKE KC! Nice quote. Jim 1 Quote
kcjenkins Posted January 10, 2013 Report Posted January 10, 2013 Thanks Jim. Seems a bit odd [scary?] that a quote from the year 1788 is so appropiate to today, isn't it? 1 Quote
JohnH Posted January 10, 2013 Report Posted January 10, 2013 Sure would be nice if there were any evidence that anyone in Washington had any respect for anything the Founding Fathers said on this or any other subject. Unfortunately, what we see in most politicians today goes beyond disregard - it appears to be outright hostility to those principles. 1 Quote
Tax Prep by Deb Posted January 10, 2013 Report Posted January 10, 2013 Here is an ubdate to our update: Program Update 12.2 -- Delayed (updated 1:30 PM EST) 1:30 PM Update We are still in the processing of testing the changes we made to the installation packaging. In order to allow for ample testing time on network environments, we will be posting the update on Friday morning. The update will contain performance optimizations for Opening rolled over returns, running e-file check, and running diagnostics. Quote
DougO Posted January 10, 2013 Report Posted January 10, 2013 Well with all the changes, testing and so forth - and "performance optimizations" - will I actually be able to rollover or open a return just to look at it ?????? Quote

Then anyone who makes trouble (=disagrees) can "legally" be imprisoned. All that needs to be done is to find some obscure law or regulation that the person broke. The CFR is now over 150,000 pages. You can extrapolate for yourselves. Quote
jainen Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 >>a quote from the year 1788 is so appropiate to today<< Yep, politicians are still saying the same thing they did back then, but it still isn't what they are actually doing! Quote
