Efile deadline

Basic question about efiling...Is the efile deadline still Oct 15th for 2011 returns or has the IRS gone year round yet?

It depends,

If your e-file must be sent legacy then October is the deadline, if it can be sent thru the new file system it's year round except for when they take e-file off line (like now, to gear up for new year).
