Pacun Posted October 28, 2012 Report Posted October 28, 2012 I am going to do payroll for my friend and his employee. The C corp pays online and the payroll company has access to the corp's log in info and pays on line and the money is taken out from my the corp's checking account. The question, should my friend call the payroll company and ask for the log information and give that information to me or should he create a new account? Any other payroll info that you want to share will be useful since this is the first time I will be preparing payroll. Quote
JohnH Posted October 28, 2012 Report Posted October 28, 2012 I just went through this with a new client recently. We couldn't get login info from the prior payroll company for some reason. But there are instructions on the EFTPS login page on how to reset everything. I think you have to obtain a new enrollment number (not the FEIN) and then they send the client a new PIN, which takes about 7-10 days. Armed with the new enrollment number and PIN, we were able to set up his EFTPS info fairly quickly. You may as well go this route because by the time you get shuffled around by the payroll company, you can have the process completed on your own. Quote
Pacun Posted October 31, 2012 Author Report Posted October 31, 2012 Thank you JohnH. Any other info will be we appreciated. Quote
JohnH Posted October 31, 2012 Report Posted October 31, 2012 You're welcome. I take it you haven't done anything yet. If you had started the process I described on Monday, you'd be a third of the way through by now (regardless of whether anyone else responds or not). Quote
