Pacun Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 I have to print my brother's tax returns about 4 times each year because he "misplaces" them. This year, I emailed him his return in pdf format and I solved my printing issues. I have not explored the pdf printing factory yet, but I would like to know how to add a password to the pdf file. I have noticed that the last 4 digits of their ss# or their zip code is a good way of doing that. Can that pdf file be created and automatically assign the last 4 digits as its password? What are you using? Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 If you are using Windows XP, the pdf factory is on the 2004 ATX CD. Look on the CD and run pdfinstall.exe. If you are using Windows7, then this works very well and is free!! http://www.dopdf.com/ Quote
Catherine Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 I used to use pdf995 (free or $9.95 per module software suite). But about a year ago I bit the bullet and bought a brand-new, registerable copy of Adobe Acrobat 9 off ebay for very small money. Password protecting, encryption, _editing_ (highlighting, adding text, etc). On top of that, I added a utility named "Tic, Tie, and Calculate" sold by cpaperless and it has been extremely helpful, very easy to use, and also wasn't much money. Quote
kcjenkins Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 http://www.cpaperless.com/Products/TicTieCalculate.aspx cost is $15 through 9/30/12 Quote
Randall Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 I have both pdffactory and Acrobat 10 standard. I use acrobat to send encrypted with a password. I'm not sure if you can assign a pw to reuse for certatin clients. Quote

Bart Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 What do you mean you couldn't find it? If you can't find 15 bucks I will loan it to you. Quote
