PTIN after passing the exam

I just received my certificate from IRS for passing the exam. I have already completed my continued education for 2012 and when I log on to my PTIN account it states I have nothing pending to do, however my PTIN is still showing as provisional.

Anyone else who has received their certificate noticed this? I thought once I passed the provisional would be removed.

I have checked mine about once a week to see if it changes. It has not. However, as you say, the account states that I have nothing pending to do. I have no clue why is is staying provisional, but am also glad to see someone else with the same results.

It takes 4-6 weeks for an amended return to be processed. I would not expect any updates on this item for 3-5 months at least. Does not change anything as far as you preparing returns.
