RitaB Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 We can renew TODAY for 10% off OR deferred payment till Dec 5, I think it said. OK, wouldn't ORDERING on Dec 5 accomplish the second option? I'm not gettin that particular marketing tool. Quote
JohnH Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 Sometimes sales managers just throw stuff against the wall and see what sticks. That usually occurs when they've run out of good ideas and are grasping at straws. I see it all the time in the sales business. If enough people bite, they will use it again next year. If not, they will try some other oddball promotion. (I call it the Abe Lincoln sales method) 1 Quote
rfassett Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 I think by locking in the order for deferred payment you are protected from any price increases that may come down the pike in the meantime. At least that is how I explained such things when I was in sales. 1 Quote
RitaB Posted May 31, 2012 Author Report Posted May 31, 2012 I must admit, for a second there, I thought we got BOTH. 10% off AND deferred payment. Then, I thought, "Not so fast, Skippy." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLDzPH-cBhw Quote
jainen Posted June 1, 2012 Report Posted June 1, 2012 >>I thought we got BOTH. 10% off AND deferred payment.<< Take the 10% unless you have to carry it on a credit card for more than a couple of months, or if you have temporary cash flow problems. You can get a full refund through next February if you change your mind. Quote
Catherine Posted June 2, 2012 Report Posted June 2, 2012 Refund through February? I thought it was a strict all-sales-final policy. That would be a good and welcome change. Quote
jainen Posted June 2, 2012 Report Posted June 2, 2012 >>strict all-sales-final policy<< Maybe that depends on who you buy it from. I looked at the refund policy on the CCH site. As far as I know, every software publisher and seller allows you to review the product and license terms before you make your final decision. With tax software, you can't even get a genuine trial until at least January. Quote
