Picked up a new client with work going back to 1999.

Yep - I did the same thing last year and had the same re-action. So much of what we take for granted in the current package was just a dream back then. Kudos to the developers.

I agree, there is nothing better than doing a return for an older year to make one appreciate the newer years programs. Just keeps getting better and better. Pity we can't say the same for the Code, huh?

whats wrong with the code? if it were simpler or more logical then we lose business. my practice never grew so much as when tax simplification was started. I say make them more complex, more confusing and then i get my cadillac!

Ah, yes...tax reform = job security for the likes of us. But my poor old brain struggles to manage more reform. Forget the Cadillac - I need a rocker!

Ive used ATX from the late 90s through 2010. Too bad it got too expensive for me and I tried TRX. I still prefer ATX/Saber.

BTW after trying to remian quite competitive with my prices for years ( i.e., CHEAP!) Ive begun to put through some nice increases and havent received a single complaint ... and the practice is growing. I figured the new tax preparer rules would have Block and others raising thier prices so why shouldnt I.

The CPA who trained me said that if you don't get a few complaints about your fees you are probably not charging enough.
