GeorgeM Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 I have a Connecticut preparer, and have a client who lives in Massachusetts and works in Rhode Island. There is a new law in Massachusetts where Rhode Island TDI can be deducted as a credit for taxes paid to another jurisdiction, and you can go back three years. I was wondering what forms I needed to be prepared for Massachusetts on that return. Any help will be greatly appreciated thank you advance. Quote
Catherine Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 Credit for tax paid to another jurisdiction is on Form Y (combined form X, Y, Z under the Mass forms). It's almost but not quite 1-for-1. Look for the worksheet (one of the detail pages) and don't forget to put the correct state ID on Form Y. Send a message or reply here if you need anything else and I'll help. Quote
