Kea Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 I just got a forms packet from IRS. I haven't received one in over 10 years, and I've e-filed for almost that long - including last year. This booklet is about the size of a Pub. 17! I wonder of other people are getting these forms unnecessarily. What a waste of paper, time and resources. I've been an authorized e-file provider for 9 years. Why would I all of a sudden want to do my own return by hand and mail it in? Quote
Karen Lee Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 The little Post Office here received Instruction Booklets and no forms for this little community. We don't have a library so that is not an easy option for our seniors that do their own tax returns. I suggested to the Post Office that I would provide one copy of the most common forms and they could make copies. I was told that since a toner cartridge costs so much the Postmaster probably wouldn't go for it. Since H&R Block just moved in maybe I will provide forms as a community service. Karen Quote
kcjenkins Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 That can be both a time waster and a business booster, Karen. If you do it, advertise it. Be real nice to the people that come in, take a minute to ask them about what they need, and always gently remind them that 'if you run into problems, we'll be happy to do your return'. I used to do that, although I never advertised it, and got some nice new clients from it. Quote
