mcb39 Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 I need to transfer client files from the data entry computer to the printing/efile computer, and then back, particularly if there are changes. I would appreciate any comments on the best way to do this. If I am working on my laptop, I export the return to a USB thumb drive and then import it to my desktop to finish and/or E-file it. All e-files should be done from the same computer. Also, make sure that you keep the program and forms updated on both computers. This worked really well for me last year as I would take work with me on weekends and then bring it home and finish it or file it. Hope this helps. I also export all files to Zip disks as I am working on them. Quote
johnmac Posted January 20, 2008 Report Posted January 20, 2008 Basically export is used for temp copies of data (i.e. to transfer returns between machines) and does NOT generally save efile data. Backup is more of an archival tool and does save efile info. Quote
