Does anyone using ATX know how to get this field to populate without overriding it? Is there a box on the 1099-R input screen that needs to be checked or something in the MD return? Abby Normal - I bet you've come across this!

Happy tax season! Married clients are current Maryland residents. They are purchasing home in Florida and intend to live there 183+ days, as well as change bank accounts, voter registration, etc. They will retain their Maryland home as a vacation home. Once Florida domicile is established, they will no longer file Maryland tax returns. (part-year return exception) Has anyone seen Maryland revenue pursue or challenge these situations? If so, what have been the issues and outcome? Thanks in advance! Colleen Weber

Is anyone having problems with creating efile for MD state returns with error message bank account # and routing # cannot be the same. This irrespective of whether the bank account information sheet is present in the return or not. Also occurs if you are using banking info sheet and the actual data in each box is different. Any solution to problem available.

I know Corporations are exempt from having to be sent a 1099-Misc in the course of business. My uncertainty is about LLCs. I assume a business that is a SMLLC, filing a schedule C, does not need to be sent a 1099. Correct? What about LLC filing as an S-Corp - which is my current situation? While we are on the subject, what about LLC, filing as a Partnership? 1099 instructions don't address this aspect and I could not find anyting in message archives, even though I suspect this subject has been beat to death in the past. Thanks,

Our company is based in Maryland and I'm filling out the Form 1 and balance sheet. We disposed of an asset that was purchased in 2010 for $433. On the form 4c, I'm putting we disposed of the depreciated value of $271. My question is on the form 1, should I subtract the original amount from the table? Or will form 1 just not balance with the balance sheet after this. Either way it doesn't even matter, we don't pay taxes as a nonprofit doing business in a tax exempt city in Maryland. But we are required to submit it any way! Thanks!!!

This is my first posting. Pardon me if it's a little disjointed. I am trying to find out if MD tax preparers received a written notice that CEU & a license is required for doing MD taxes. And when did you receive the notice. Been denied exemption because of lacking 2013 CEU. Have every other year CEUs I am trying to fight with knowledge that MD did not notify the tax preparers in writing what the requirements were. Been doing taxes since 1996.

PA resident. sold MD Tax Free Bonds. I am thinking the gain on disposition would be exempt to MD resident, but taxable to PA resident. Correct? Thanks,

I have a client with an Unemployment 1099-G with an incorrect amount. My suggestion was to call MD DLLR and ask for explanation and/or correction. Has anyone dealt with this? Thanks

It seems that MD has its own exam for tax preparers this year. Have you heard anything from DC or VA? http://www.dllr.state.md.us/license/taxprep/
