  1. He relied on advice from a professional.
  2. I have gotten referrals from people I would refer to. Examples are my payroll company contacts, Lawyers, Bankers, Insurance People and other professionals.
  3. Line 16 with a code of "D"
  4. I think you are trying to bark up the wrong tree.
  5. You can change the default. Click on the round office icon on the top left, click on excel options, click on save.
  6. In my versions of 2007 Word and 2007 Excel, I have the choice of saving the file as a 2007 version or as a 97-2003 version. That other version can be opened by earlier programs.
  7. I have a partnership that is a partner in another partnership. The partnership's K-1 from the other partnership does not show any income taxable as self employment income on like 14(a) of form K-1. The partnership I prepare has two partners. One is the managing partner and the other is a limited partner. Isn't the managing partner considered a general partner? Since the big partnership did not report any income subject to self employment tax, wouldn't that mean that my partnership would also not report any income subject to self employment tax? Or would the general partner have to pay self employment tax anyway?
  8. You have a qualifying child who is your dependent. You do not claim the dependency exemption. Can you still claim the head of household filing status?
  9. I have a client who has had a downturn in business(who hasn't?). The employees voted to take a 10% reduction in pay instead of two of them losing their jobs. I do like and agree with your line of thinking.
  10. By "make it a network" I am assuming you mean make it a workstation instead of the main computer. If that is so, I think you would have to uninstall the program and then run netsetup from whatever computer is now the main computer.
  11. I have always thought that if I dont have a few complaints about my bill I am not billing enough.
  12. I DO think that ANY post should be deleted for ANY reason or NO reason. I have full confidence in our "dictators" and I hope they will always do as they please.
  13. I believe you can also get it online. Here are the links for the product and the mail-in rebate: http://www.staples.com/office/supplies/p1_...es_10051_SEARCH https://www.stapleseasyrebates.com/promocen...elect_form.html
  14. Centralized Authorization File
  15. I have a client who is learning a new accounting software. The instruction videos are online. We were having trouble plaing the videos. We were using flash player 10.0 and we had to uninstall it and go back to flash player 9.0. Their videos did not support flash player 10.0. Perhaps you you are trying to hear the sound with an unsupported player.
  16. I'd like to see that picture also. Maybe we could have it posted here by one of you guys.
  17. Windows XP Pro comes with remote desktop which works well if you can get thru your firewall.
  18. If you filed a 941C last year for payroll tax year 2005 and need to amend it again, do you amend the original 941's or do you amend the 941's as amended by the first 941C.
  19. I have a client with a 9/30 year end. The 9/30/08 tax return will be a 2007 tax return. For year end 9/30/08, they placed in service $300,000 worth of new property in February 2008. Can they elect to expense $250,000 under the 2008 rules since the equipment was placed in service in 2008?
  20. I had the same problem and just called the IRS and they added 1120 and 1065 to my efiling status. I was able to file the rejected return four business days later.
  21. What did the Zen Buddhist say to the hot dog vendor? "Make me one with everything."
  22. I have a client who wants to receive as many tax breaks as possible and help their son buy a house. Should the home be a second home or a rental?
  23. You should have told him at that time that the return IS due by Aug 15.
  24. Maybe the 1116 is not needed and the amount going directly to line 51 of the 1040.
  25. Maybe the lender didn't write the loan off their books until 2006.
