IL income tax is based on Federal AGI, if by any chance there was some AGI in 2013, the state of IL is one of those states that communicates with the IRS.

Question for my non-profit friends, let's say somebody bought a building that was a church or a community center and was exempt from property taxes, now that the building is privately owned, it is now subject to property taxes. Can the new owner apply for property tax exemption if they will be leasing back to church/community center? Thanks

Speaking of sick kids, many years ago a client brought in his two grade school age kids and was letting them run up and down the hallway without a care in the world. After they left, we found out the kids had drank almost all of the coffee creamers because they didn't bother to throw them away.

Does anybody know if there is M-2 equivalent for a 990? A fellow accountant friend of mine client had a financial audit for 2015 & 2016 after the 990 was prepared. He is having trouble for 2017, if he keeps the beginning balance (from prior year tax return), then he cannot balance for 2017. The problem is solved if he uses the audited financial statements balances as of 12/31/17 but then it will not match the tax return that was filed. Can he just use the new beginning balance or is there another form to reconcile the balance? Thanks

Does anybody here have a client that didn't offer any health insurance and is now getting notices from the IRS? If yes, did you or the IRS calculate the penalty? Thanks

Your thoughts one this one.... 1. TP works for a IT company that has no fiscal offices in the US, so the TP uses their home as an office. 2. Employer office is in Tokyo, but has US corporation to conduct business here. 3. Employer has a government contract which requires the TP to troubleshoot over the phone/remotely or travel to the base which is 40+ miles each way. 4. Not everything can be done over the phone/remotely all the time, so travel is required about 80% of the time. Can the TP deduct mileage even though TP is required to be at base most of the time? Thanks

I had no problem so far, I don’t duplicate 941’s per se, I duplicate the client, I name each file something like this: Abc 1st qtr abc 2nd qtr etc... I am not in the office to check which 4 letter code you are referring to.
