I have a client that is being claimed as a dependent (F/T student living away from home) who stayed the summer and received a 1099 Misc. I know it's Sched C - -but - -is the rent that was paid for the apartment for the summer a legitimate expense against this $4500??? 30 years, I have never had this come up - - - sigh Thank you!
-
I use Firefox- - -still getting the error, so I have to open through IE. Minor inconvenience, but it was WORKING until 2 weeks ago - - -arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!
-
I do the same - - write it off each year - - clearly mark Tax Prep software on Schedule C since it is a rather large amount.
-
Thanks Rita B!!!!! YAY!!!!!!
-
RitaB I am having the same issue. You are right, big picture - -little problem - - -but annoying just the same.

OK - - I KNOW the calendar says 1/31 - - -but - -it was 55 degrees here in Buffalo, NY. We have had a TOTAL of under 20 inches of snowso far this season - - - -none of which remains, and the average for this time of year is over 50 inches. Due to the warm & wacky weather, Lake Erie is WIDE OPEN - -no ice - -this can mean one of 2 things: either possible huge lake effect storms - -or very early spring. Since I had 1/2 hr in between clients today - -I WASHED MY CAR - - WOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! OK - -I'm back now - - - sorry - -it is so hard to concentrate when there are people jogging by in shorts - - It's 1/31 - - - -theres green grass - - - blue lake - - - and a clean car. sigh
-
Start inputing! But like Jack said above - - itisi a great way to re-aquaint youself with your clients. Good Luck!
-
Thanks for the update - - -my prayers are with her & her family.
-
MY error - - -- sorry - -you are right - - -I am wrong - - -not the first time today I have said that - - - -thank you!
-
Thank You Diane! I will give it a try.
-
I believe I have updated to the latest program - -1.019 . I followed previous advice, and went to MYATX through IE instead of firefox - - OY! Is this the latest version?
-
Diane, Could you plese tell us Firefox users how to correct this problem? I can't even send an email to support. Thank You! Terry O

I actually have the same scenerio. Client had to re-pay in 2011 for overpayment in 2010. However, since there is no tax liability for 2011, nor will the adjustment affect 2010, I told her to let it go.

I agree with Marilyn- - -I always use custom printing. Too bad the program does not have that option as a default.
-
Congratulations ! I enjoy and appreciate your posts.

I had the same error the past 2 days. did the manual , and all the forms updated. However, sisnce I was not sure what the newest version was, I tried the slower option, and I believe I have the most current version. Good Luck!

This is year 30 for me - - --semi-retired a few years ago. I could NOT handle the 600+ - - - -YES that was 600 tax returns that I prepared about 10 years ago. Thank heavens tuition was done, so there was no urgent need for me to kill myself every eyar. Did I mention, I work alone - - -yep - - all by myself. And for some reason, I agree, I have no interest this year. Maybe it's the 2 new knees I was fortunate enough to get in May - - -maybe it's that my husband semi retired and is home more - - -maybe it's the REALLY unusual weather we have had here in Buffalo lately. But, I am ever grateful for ev eryone on this forum! Good Luck this season to all!

Welcome back everyone! I have a military W-2 with the code D11 in box 12. My question is, normally, box 12 is a deduction from wages for tax deferred/exempt income, however this amount is added to SS wages and included in Box 1. I have never seen this before, and am wondering if anyone has ever seen this. Thanks!

I agree - -as the only person here for the past 340 years - -I NEVER would have survived without everyone - -I defiantly learned more here than in any class! The never ending winter has yet to give up it's steel-hard grip on the Buffalo area - -sooooooooooooooooo No gardening, NO beach - -just - -dreary. Linda - -hang in there! A 45 yr old football injury( yep - -I know - -I'm a whopping 5' tall - -but those guys were SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE!!!) and 35 yr old rebuilding of a knee has taken it's toll - -I am scheduled for bilateral knee replacements ^ reconstruction in about 3 weeks - - -with any luck - -and a lot of hard work - - AND - -we get spring or summer here - -I will be rehabbing at the BEACH!!!! Again - -thank to ALL for this wonderful forum! Terry O

Buffalo NY area - -between $3.79 - - $3.86 gallon
-
Sorry to hear NECPA - - -things have a way of working out. My vacation plans - -probably Veranda Beach - -looking for 1 if not 2 total knee replacements - -now that I am "old" enough - - -OY!

Our son has a rescue greyhound - -and Miss Daisy has the BEST winter coat thanks to Granma Terry O! Do you have any suggestions for greyhound coat patterns?
